USDA Lowers Russia's Wheat Export Forecast for the First Time Since June

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has adjusted its projections for Russia's wheat exports in the current agricultural year (July 2024–June 2025):

  • Wheat Production: The forecast remains at 81.5 million tons.

  • Wheat Exports: Reduced by 1 million tons, now estimated at 47 million tons.

  • Ending Stocks: Increased from 7.24 million to 8.24 million tons.

For other grains:

  • Corn Production: Unchanged at 13 million tons.

  • Corn Exports: Steady at 3.3 million tons.

  • Feed Grains Production: Stable at 34.5 million tons, with exports at 6.2 million tons.

Comparatively, the European Union's wheat export forecast has been lowered by 1 million tons to 29 million tons, with production down by 1.3 million tons to 121.3 million tons.

Ukraine's wheat export forecast has been raised by 500,000 tons to 16.5 million tons, while production remains at 22.9 million tons.

Kazakhstan's figures are unchanged, with production at 18 million tons and exports at 10 million tons.

Globally, wheat production is projected to decrease by 1.78 million tons, totaling 792.95 million tons.

Note: USDA forecasts exclude data from Crimea and newly annexed territories.
